Post New Brunswick Election – 3 out of 5 parties said “No Comment” essentially #NBVOTES #NBVOTES2014

Its been done, decided and we move on to a new chapter in New Brunswick history with a new government to lead us for the next 4 years. One that had parties championing the small business guy. I made an honest effort to ask all the parties involved (twice in some cases) if they use small businesses in the province of New Brunswick to produce their campaign messages for print, radio and television. (The way the question was phrased was posted previously on this blog.)

I was truly disappointed to receive only two confirmations of use of local vendors. 2 out of 5 took the time to respond.

Out of the 5, only the NB NDP and the People’s Alliance took the time to answer and confirm they were sourcing local vendors for their media work. Neither the NB Liberal party, the NB PCs nor the NB Green Party replied.

It was a pretty simple question. Thanks to the 2 parties who took the time to respond. As for the other three, the next four years should speak volumes as to how you support small business.

Local Politics. Other answers to “Who did your ad?”

So, its been about a week since I posed the question:

“I have a question regarding your media campaign production. How much of your ad production for print, radio, and TV is actually done by talented people in NB? I am asking the same question of the A, B, C, D and F , as well. Thanks, Rick”

I received only 2 answers from 5 of the political parties running candidates in the province, as noted in my previous blog post. This was a question regarding how they made use of NB based companies or individuals. Only 2 took the time to answer and 3 others could not. Or can’t.

The Parties running in this election are listed below and have their order listed in no way indicates whether they answered or not, or my personal preference as to whom I may vote for:

So, when that party candidate or party leader starts extolling the virtues of NB small business, maybe you should be asking how these organizations actually utilize local business. Seems only 2 of 5 cared to reply, or could.

Feel free to share your thoughts.

See you at the polls! Be sure that you vote! It does make a difference, that day and everyone until the next election.

Local Politics. Answers to: Who did your ad?

So I posed this question to each of the 5 parties involved in this election through their websites or FB pages, all before the Labor Day weekend:

“I have a question regarding your media campaign production. How much of your ad production for print, radio, and TV is actually done by talented people in NB? I am asking the same question of the A, B, C, D and F , as well. Thanks, Rick”

Here is what I’ve gotten so far. In the interest of not pointing fingers at specific parties, I’ll leave out where the replies came from. If you want to know who sent what, feel free to DM me and I’ll let you in on who they are. So here goes:

  1. Hi Mr, Arseneault, All of our ads were produced in New Brunswick (Moncton and Fredericton companies were involved in the production of our videos.) Have a nice day.
  2. “Our signsare printed by a small Miramichi company.  That’s the bulk of our advertising. “followed up with a response about radio ads:

” Radio is in plan and will be produced locally. ”

So thats 2 of 5 that worked through the long weekend and promptly gave me an answer. At least 2 are confirming that money is being kept in province and employing local talent.

I’ve asked the other 3 of 5 parties running campaigns in the province again how much local talent they have used.

As soon as I hear,  I will update again.

Have a good day and play fair out there.
